Trail Safety
Stay on marked trails at all times
Carry adequate water for you and your horse
Check weather conditions before riding
Tell someone your ride plan and expected return time

Coggins test required within 12 months
Health certificate for out-of-state horses
Current vaccinations recommended
Well-fitting tack and proper footwear

Campsite Rules
Quiet hours: 10pm - 7am
Keep horses in designated corrals
Clean up all manure from campsite daily
Extinguish fires completely before leaving
No tying horses to trees or fences
No fireworks or loud generators

Keep a safe distance from all wildlife
Report any injured or distressed animals
Pack out all trash including food scraps
Never feed wildlife
Do not disturb nesting birds or dens
No collecting plants, rocks, or artifacts
Rattlesnake Safety
- • Most active during warm months (April - October)
- • Watch where you step and where you put your hands
- • If you hear a rattle, freeze and slowly back away
- • Keep horses calm if they encounter a snake
- • If bitten, seek immediate medical attention - do not apply ice or tourniquet
Weather Awareness
- • Flash floods can occur with little warning - avoid low areas during storms
- • Lightning is common during monsoon season - seek low ground away from ridges
- • Heat exhaustion is a real risk - start early and rest during peak sun
- • Cold temperatures can develop quickly after sunset
